 Ihab Jamal, Winner of International Violin Competitions

Ihab started playing the violin at the age of 6, joined the "Lebanese National Higher Conservatory" with Professor Antoine Khalifeh, and is studying with Professor Arthur Ter-Hovhanessian for the past 4 years.

3rd prize Laureate at the "Hrach Boghdanyan" International Violin Festival Competition, in December 2014, in Yerevan, Armenia, representing Lebanon, becoming the 1st Lebanese laureate Violin player.

He is the winner of the 1st prize at "La 7ème Edition de Musique de Chambre - Margot Babikian 2010".

At the age of 17, Ihab joined the "West-Eastern Divan Orchestra" under Maestro Daniel Barenboim, after a live audition, and participated in its European tours performing at the most prestigious venues including La Scala Milano, Musikverien in Vienna, Berlin Philharmonic, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.

He has attended several Master classes in Berlin with musicians from "Berlin Staatskapelle" and "Berliner Philharmoniker". He participated as principle 2nd Violin player at the Al Andalus Orchestra under Maestro Barenboim and has joined the "Mediterranean Youth Orchestra" under Françoise Xavier-Roth and Gianandria Noseda, also participated as co-concertmaster with the "Palestinian Youth Orchestra".

Ihab is the 1st Lebanese and Arab to win lately an Audition of The Principle 2nd Violin chair at the "Internationale Junge Orchester Akademie" in Germany, participating in its Germany tours (Bayreuth, Jena, Selb, Weiden, Leipzig) and recordings which was conducted by Maestros Mathias Foremny and Simon Gaudenz.

Ihab recorded several CD's as leader with the "Internationale Junge Orchester Akademie" in Germany, and performed several Concerts and Ballets with the "Mediterranean Youth Orchestra" at the Aix-en-Provence Festivals in France.

Due to his impressive performance at the competition in December 2014, Ihab got recommendations from world known professor Hrach Harutyunian and had several master classes with him.

Ihab and Professor Ter-Hovhanessian became Honorary Foreign Members of "Lebanon - Armenia" Foundation due to their impressive appearance at the Hrach Bodnaynan International Festival Competition where the came 3rd place.

Together with Professor Ter-Hovhanessian, they have been presenting Solo Concerts in Lebanon, and preparing for more appearances in bigger and more international prestigious competitions.
