Letter From The President

Dear teachers and students/parents,
I hope that you and your loved ones are all well and coping with the tremendous challenges that our country has been going through since October 17 last year. These are indeed difficult times and these difficulties have disrupted the normal flow of processes in the Conservatory and left us with many unanswered questions that we worked tirelessly to address.
I would like to provide you with an update of how the teaching will resume in the Conservatory. We are aiming to start the 2020-2021 academic year as of Monday October 12 for current students in instruments’ classes. These classes will be taught face-to-face in every branch. The starting date of FM classes, Music Theory/History and other group classes in both the Western and Arabic section will follow shortly after and will be announced later. These classes will be taught online during the beginning of the current academic year and until the health situation allows us to ask students to resume taking them in their respective branches. Further updates concerning the whole academic calendar will be communicated soon.
Being aware of the seriousness of the current health situation, we have developed a collaboration agreement with the Lebanese Red Cross. This agreement allows us to ensure the safety of our instruments teachers and students who will be coming to the branches for face-to-face classes. The terms of this collaboration will require the Red Cross to visit all Conservatory branches and indicate the necessary safety requirements such as the maximum number of people that can be present in a classroom with the distancing measures considered. They have also provided us with safety guidelines for every instrument that we will be communicating soon. The Red Cross have also accepted to provide every branch with a thermometer, sanitizing gun, as well as gel sanitizers. We are thankful to the dedicated members of the Red Cross who have worked with us to ensure the safety of our community.
Despite all the challenges, I look forward to the collaboration of everyone in hope of starting a healthy and successful academic year.
Best Regards,
Bassam Saba
President
